Mr. Erick Odhiambo Odhiambo was born in 1986 in Mathare slums, he is an established entrepreneur, certified business mentor, sought after motivational speaker, thespian, delegate of Nairobi slum leaders assembly, former employee of Qatar airways, chairman of Embakasi Ward Public Participation Committee, regular mentor and judge of startup cup competition at WE CREATE KENYA center and founder of Ose cleaners a profession’s services .

Ose cleaners a professional cleaning service and consultancy business in Kenya

Where did the idea of your current project come from?

As one of the community leader in Embakasi East constituency, area attributed with higher drug abuse cases in the whole country second to Juja constituency, more than 70% of youths in the area abuse drugs, two in every 5 youths either consume illicit brew or chew khat according to NACADA ,personally He has lost most of his friends to alcoholism , his art group members included ,the burden of rescuing his fellow youths and contributing to the solution was overwhelming, he observed heaving investment in real estate industry .he saw a niche market ,opportunity to be grabbed a great potential and a bright future in cleaning business ,privileged to have Nyayo Estate as a neighborhood the second largest estate in Africa he saw a golden opportunity of creating quick jobs, impacting his generation positively and providing long lasting solution of waterless cleaning services to save water which is very scarce in the country.

Why do you do what you do?

I would like to contribute in creating quick jobs, impacting his generation positively and providing a long lasting solution of waterless cleaning services to save water which is very scarce in the country.I have a heart and passion for entrepreneurship, I have a deep desire to share his business building experience and skills with aspiring entrepreneurs, am energized with success and growth of entrepreneurship in Kenya.

What’s the one thing you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

they should never fear to take the risk, get out of their comfort zone make as many mistakes as they can never to despise a small beginning start now stay small, use their energy where there is return, transform their idea from hobbies to business

What’s the most important piece of advice would you give to someone just starting?

seek mentors help they assist in helping startups overcoming business challenges

What is the hardest thing you have had to do regarding your business?

leaving my Aviation job with Qatar Airways to venture in business

What does your typical day look like?

I wake up at 6:00 am pray for 15 Minutes, open a gospel radio station to get inspiration words, 7: 30 prepare a breakfast, preapare for  duty in the office
11:00 go to gym for physical fitness
2:00 pm go back to the house freshen up and return to the office until 6:00 pm

What is one problem you encountered as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

pessimism since I come from a family that no one is an entrepreneur I overcome by my revenues and projects achieved from revenue of my venture

So why do some people accomplish seemingly impossible amounts, while others can barely take care of themselves. It comes down to 2 things, how much time are they wasting on stuff that doesn’t matter, and how effective are they at managing the time they are spending on the right things.
