How long have you been an Entrepreneur?

30+ years

Did you leave a job to become an Entrepreneur?

No, it came because my husband passed away.

What is the name of your current project / company?

The Launderette Express

Please describe for us in 1 sentence your current project.

An upscale, clean, energy efficient laundry including fluff & fold, commercial and a mid-century look.

Where did the idea of your current project come from?

Years and years ago when someone said they made a good return from laundry.

Why do you do what you do?

To have a great work-life balance. If I work for myself, I can have time to spend with family and cycling.

What’s the one thing you wish you could go back and tell your younger self?

Be respectful, honest, kind, trust in God, work through the difficult times and don’t give up.

What’s the most important piece of advice would you give to someone just starting?

Count the cost, prepare as much as you can, patience can be wisdom, seek outside counsel then believe in your plan, be flexible and work the plan. Vision is key!

What does your typical day look like?

I start at 4:30am, bible study and prayer, 7 am I either cycle or work out at least 5 times a week. I go through my notes on what is priority then I work until about 7:30pm.

If you were to start again, and could change one thing, what would it be?

Seriously keep an eye on the money. Hire people to do what you can’t.

What is the most important thing in life?

A personal relationship with Jesus Christ

What is one problem you encountered as an entrepreneur, and how did you overcome it?

Thinking you know things when you really don’t.Realizing it then asking 100’s of questions of everyone. Read everything from both positions of whatever you are venturing on so you can understand there are truly two sides.
